Welcome to Hills College
Hills College is a Prep to Year 12 international college offering unique educational opportunities in an environment where language, culture and activities are shared. By enabling young people of different cultures to mix and learn from each other, the college is preparing a new generation of genuinely global citizens.
Hills College displays many characteristics which make it unique. We are committed to providing quality academic and sporting facilities where all students have the opportunity to shine.
We maintain a strict policy of small class sizes, and an “open door” policy to parents. As a result of this, we are able to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses quickly and take steps to remedy and/or extend them intellectually. Parents are welcome to make an appointment at any time to see relevant teachers or Heads of Department to discuss any concerns, or to get extra feedback on their child’s progress.
Above all, Hills College is an extremely friendly school where new students are made to feel genuinely welcome. Testimony to this is the fact that every year we are host to visiting student groups from different countries, who often come back year after year to experience Hills’ special brand of hospitality.
Hills College is fully committed to providing quality education in a totally safe environment and abides by a strictly enforced discipline policy.
In short, we are able to provide students with more personalised care and attention; a fact evidenced by our confident and self-assured student body.
The Primary School of Hills College is dedicated to helping all students develop academically, socially, physically and culturally. All staff members assist our students to explore their potential through an inquiry based curriculum.
We encourage students to become life long learners through the development of relevant, enjoyable and high quality programs. Building a passion for learning within the child is a key element in providing them with a quality education. Students are encouraged to be proactive and engaged in their own learning to promote responsibility and dedication to any task set before them. The Primary School also has full-time learning support staff who works with children experiencing learning difficulties and for those who require extension.
Each year our Primary School students host groups from Hong Kong and Japan. This is a marvelous opportunity for friendships to be born and cross cultural learning to take place. We offer a diverse range of sporting opportunities including golf, athletics, swimming, football, netball, rugby league and cross country. Primary School students are involved in running and participating in lunchtime inter-house hockey and volleyball competitions. Hills Primary School affiliates with the Beaudesert and Districts School Sports Association and competes at District, Regional and State levels.
The Middle School at Hills College comprises students from Years 7 to 10. Our Middle School Program aims to ease the transition from Primary School to Secondary School by providing an exciting program specifically targeted at meeting the needs of adolescents.
Our College follows the national curriculum for middle schools, and all students who successfully complete the Middle School Program are eligible to enter the Hills College Senior School “the stepping stone to future career paths.”
Students graduating from Hills College are eligible for OP (teritary entrance) scores, University and TAFE entry.

Hills Language College
High School Preparation Program:
This course is designed for students who have studied in their home country but wish to enter mainstream Australian high school classes. There are four levels in this program and each takes 10 weeks to complete. On arrival students complete a Placement Test before being placed in the appropriate level for their ability. At the end of each 10 weeks students sit for a school-based test similar to the International Second Language Proficiency Rating test to gauge their readiness to move to the next level. On achieving the required proficiency to enter the particular grade level in Hills International College (our high school) students are then transferred to study in the mainstream school.
General English Program:
This course is designed for students who wish to improve their English for various purposes such as entering university or TAFE or simply to live in Australia as residents at a later date. Classes are small with a maximum of 15 students per class. There are four levels of English in this program each of which takes 10 weeks to complete. Students sit for a school-based test at the end of every ten weeks to gauge their readiness to move to the next level.

The majority of our homestay families have been with us for over 10 years, and are very experienced in welcoming students from different countries.
