Welcome to Loreto College, Marryatville
Loreto College, Marryatville, is an independent Catholic day and boarding school for girls from Early Learning to Year 12.
Located in Adelaide?s leafy, green Eastern suburbs, Loreto College is only five minutes from Adelaide?s city centre and is well patronised by public transport. Loreto College also operates its own school buses to the Hills, Mawson Lakes and the Western suburbs, with future bus routes planned.
Loreto College prides itself on a proven record of academic achievement, offering a broad range of subject choices and extra-curricular programs that cater for the diverse abilities and interests of our girls.
Loreto College is proud to offer a world-class educational experience tailored to how girls learn best, while providing opportunities for your daughter to flourish and grow into a confident and successful young woman. As an International Baccalaureate World School, we offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), with the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) offered in the Senior Years.
World-class all-girls education
At Loreto College we know and acknowledge that all-girls? education is a specialised field. As such, our classes and curriculum are tailored to the way girls learn best.
Our girls at Loreto College are free to pursue academic success and each achievement is celebrated. However, there is more to learning than academic studies alone. All activities are open to girls providing opportunities to participate, influence and lead – there is no gender stereotyping.
Although Loreto College is not an academically selective school, our students achieve some of the best Year 12 results in the state and our student performance in the National Assessment Program ? Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests is consistently above average. In addition, our strong commitment to social justice and community encourages our girls to make connections both in and beyond the classroom.
From Primary Years to the Middle and Senior Years, students are given countless opportunities to take leadership, grow in confidence, develop a strong work ethic and to take risks in a safe environment. This results in young women who are relaxed, articulate, confident and have transferrable life skills, regardless of their individual talents.
In addition to a high quality all-girls? education, our outstanding resources and facilities ensure we can provide your daughter with opportunities to succeed and excel during her time at Loreto College; after all, we believe that our success is in the woman she becomes.
Boarding at Loreto
Loreto College, Marryatville, is the only all girls Catholic boarding school in Adelaide. The boarding precinct is home to approximately 70 girls from country South Australia, interstate and overseas.
Boarding School life at Loreto College provides the opportunity to establish life-long friendships and enables each student to develop qualities of resourcefulness, leadership and maturity. Boarders are cared for by senior staff and their junior assistants who have empathy with and understanding of the special needs of young people. The senior girls take much care in ensuring that younger students feel a sense of belonging at the Boarding School. A “Little Sister” program encourages a very comfortable and caring relationship between older and younger students.
Integral to the life of the Loreto College Boarding House is a commitment to provide a spiritual environment where each student can develop her faith through prayer, liturgy, and weekly Mass in the local Parish. Students are encouraged to develop initiative and self-reliance and to act both independently and responsibly.
Parents have the opportunity for regular communication with boarding staff, the wider Loreto Community and their involvement through the Boarder Parent Support Group is invaluable.
Strong sense of community
Loreto College has a rich tradition of strong community spirit that spans generations and ensures long lasting friendships.
Social and fundraising events are held throughout the year by students, parents, past parents and old scholars and is an important part of the life and culture at Loreto College.
This sense of community is also evident among our students. We invest time and energy to ensure there is a sense of connectedness and collaboration ? listening, helping and accepting others? points of view. Our Pastoral Care, counselling and House system ensures no girl goes under the radar. Each is acknowledged and accepted for her own individual talents.
With seven Loreto independent private schools in Australia, and 150 Loreto schools worldwide, there are endless opportunities for Loreto girls to connect, both nationally and internationally.
