One campus, one journey

Located on the banks of the Swan River in Claremont, MLC provides an outstanding learning environment for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 on the one site, enabling a seamless transition throughout their learning journeys at the College. The lush campus features new state-of-the-art facilities for adolescent students, in addition to Creative Arts studios and both intimate and large-scale performing arts facilities. Playing fields, ball courts and a swimming pool enable the girls to remain physically fit and active. A caf??, uniform shop and health centre also on campus.

Academics

The College?s long record of academic excellence results from a commitment to attracting and maintaining excellent staff, combined with extensive academic and co-curricular programs in which the girls can extend themselves. Through the wide range of opportunities on offer, encompassing music ensembles, sports, performing arts and social services, girls are able to participate in a diverse range of activities and continue to challenge themselves, consolidate their talents and strive for great heights.

Boarding

Boarding has been a special part of the College since it was established more than a century ago. Situated in the middle of the campus and overlooking the Swan River, the Boarding House caters for up to 100 girls from Years 7 to 12. Our boarders hail from regional Western Australia, interstate and overseas, and diversity is celebrated within the tight-knit community. Boarding House staff are hand-chosen for their loving and nurturing natures, and help provide a true home away from home for the boarding family. The caring environment supports the girls as they assume additional responsibilities and become more independent over time. Girls enjoy excellent, balanced food, comfortable bedrooms and generous leave entitlements within the context of a vigorous academic and co-curricular program.

Pastoral Care

MLC?s values are evident in the daily school life of students and staff, alike: Christian foundations; Courage, resilience and confidence; Making the most of individual gifts; Community spirit; and Respect for self, others and the environment are at the forefront of the girls? learning as they progress through the years. Age-appropriate pastoral care provides a safe environment which celebrates differences and supports girls to be comfortable with themselves. All students are integral to the school community. The Tutorial and Learning Community structures seek to foster an ethos of mutual support and care, and enable students to touch base with a constant staff member, daily. These structures remain constant throughout the Middle and Senior Years, allowing girls to develop strong and lasting friendships.
